Rebounding from the restrictions on assembly during COVID years, in 2023 the Club returned to monthly in person meetings with a Zoom option. In April 2023 Kiwanis Pontchartrain conducted its most successful fundraiser at the 2023 New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival. 2024 Jazzfest also realized healthy revenue to fund future Club projects and Key Club awards.
One of the hallmarks of Kiwanis Pontchartrain is its willingness to support the project ideas proposed by senior and recent members. The Kiwanis Club of Pontchartrain is still here, still going strong, and hoping to increase both our membership and the services we offer to our community.
Signature Project: Little Free Library
Club sponsored structures at Holy Spirit Church/People Program Westbank’s campus, Bethany United Methodist Church in Pontchartrain Park, De Battista/Steeple Chase neighborhood and Dodwell House at Anna’s Place in the Treme neighborhood.
The Kiwanis Mission & Vision
Kiwanis empowers communities to improve the world by making lasting differences in the lives of children. Kiwanis strives to be a positive influence in communities worldwide — so that one day, all children will wake up in communities that believe in them, nurture them and provide the support they need to thrive. Our Kiwanis club fulfills the Kiwanis mission by serving our community through Kiwanis Community Service Projects.
